Inspired by the electronic music of Orbital and Future Sound of London, the South Florida dance scene
of the mid-90s became Jag's "Miami vice" – well, more of a passion than a vice – and that's where he
first made his name behind the decks. After relocating from the Czech Republic to the Sunshine State,
Jag became a regular DJ at parties and clubs in the area. His first major gig came at the Ultra Music Festival
in 2001, where he helped set up a stage with his audio engineering partner and where he played to
a packed party crowd.
In fact, Jag’s musical interests began at a young age, his first love being the electric guitar. At 14, he
formed a band, and it was here that he began to develop his sound-shaping skills. In 2005, Jag completed
a two- year course at the School of Audio Engineering in Miami, but decided to develop his knowledge
further, going on to complete a BC degree in Audio Engineering in London.
Although he became mostly known for spinning techno – from the likes of Adam Bayer, Valentino Kanzyani
and Brian Zents – after leaving the US, Jag, ever the innovator, sought to focus his talents on producing
his own music. He is currently based in the Czech capital, Prague, where he runs his own imprint,
Seva Records. Sonically speaking, Jag is hard to pin down. The influences of a diverse career can
be easily heard throughout his releases on the In-House Recordings and Seva Records labels. Jumping
from genres such as deep house, deep tech or dub techno, each track highlights his ability to adapt to different
But although he is a fan of contrasting styles, Jag avoids "classifying" music. "What's good is good," is
how he concisely sums it up.
Jag is staying busy making music and DJing wherever possible. Always looking for new genre to explore
while maintaining true underground sound, Jag’s DJ sets are focused on meticulous track selection and
fine mixing. This detail-oriented approach is gaining Jag a loyal fan base.
From Miami to London and now Prague, Jag's unique sound is not only diverse, but truly international.
